GOURDS

One of a Kind, Unique, Artwork

Ann has been exploring the world of gourd art.  Using original designs etched into the gourds with wood burning techniques, coloring them with leather dyes, textile inks and paints, gilders paste,  horse hair, wild feathers and yarn and using polish, wax, or varnish to enhance the natural sheen of the gourds she now produces one of a kind items. Some are useful, all are decorative, some are simply fun.  All this is done from the gourds grown here on White Oak Farm.  You’ll quickly see that these aren’t the typical painted birdhouses or penguins, but true collector’s items.

We believe you will appreciate the many hours involved in each unique project and –particularly in Ann’s “snakes” – you will see a whimsical humor that can only come from living close to nature.

We invite you to visit Ann’s playhouse,
by the greenhouse, to see her newest creations.
